How long does treatment take?

This depends on the individual and their condition. Some improvement in symptoms could be noted within hours to a day for acute complaints such as a cold, or within 6 weeks for chronic complaints.

What may herbal medicine treat?

Herbal Medicine may treat almost any condition that patients might see a doctor for. It is extremely effective for treating disorders of the nervous system, digestive system, immune system, and also hormonal complaints. You will be advised if your condition is best treated by another health professional.

Initial Consultation

The first step in herbal treatment is the initial consultation appointment which will take thirty minutes to one hour. During this time I will take a detailed medical history including the reason you have come to see me. I will note details of your medical history, any medication you are on, your family medical history, diet and lifestyle. Where appropriate I will also take your pulse and blood pressure. Then we will discuss diet and lifestyle changes that would benefit you, length of treatment, expected outcomes and herbal treatments recommended.

Follow Up Consultation

This will take place 2-3 weeks after the initial consultation to assess progress. With acute conditions it may be sooner and this will be discussed at the initial consultation. Here we will discuss the progress of the herbal treatments and adjust the prescription or dosage according to your needs.

Pricing

Any herbal medicines and nutritional supplements needed vary in price and are not included in the above prices. The cost of herbal remedies varies according to what you are prescribed and cost about $17-25 per week. Herbal medicine comes as tinctures, herbal teas, tablets and creams. The herbs used are organically grown in our own garden where possible or else ethically sourced from reputable suppliers. At the end of the consultation payment is made for the consultation and any herbal medicines, teas, creams etc that are prescribed.

Cancellations

We require 24 hours notice for any change/cancellation for a booking. Otherwise a cancellation fee of $30 applies.
